The silicone is thick enough that I don't feel any heat through the forearm section when pulling a hot cast iron pan from the oven. It's held up well after months of heavy use and cleans up easily with a quick wipe.

These things are serious about coverage—the silicone goes all the way up past my forearm, so pulling a heavy roasting pan out of a 450° oven feels completely safe, and the grip is rock solid even when the mitt's a little damp.

The terry lining inside is plush enough that I forget I'm wearing protection, yet the silicone shell still flexes naturally when I'm pulling a hot cast-iron pan out. My forearms finally feel fully covered, which was the whole reason I grabbed these over the short ones.
